„Neoclassical Ballet“ 4-day intense workshop mit Marcello Ferreira

Ballet is not just a rigid system of rules; it is a living, breathing language of expression.

This 4-day intensive is designed to bridge the gap between classical precision and contemporary freedom. Grounded in the elegance of classical ballet but infused with the fluid, dynamic, and expressive soul of the neoclassical repertoire, this workshop is about finding more space in your movement, deeper musicality, and a freer approach to your technique.

Each session starts with a dense, energetic neoclassical technique class (roughly 1 hour and 15 minutes) to challenge your limits and unlock your fluid line. We will then transition into a creative choreography laboratory for the remaining 45 minutes, though this breakdown may shift slightly depending on the day and the needs of the dancers. Together, we will dive into the soul of neoclassical repertoire, learning and refining beautiful choreographic fragments.

The 4-Day Journey: For full-course participants, this is a progressive journey. Each day we build upon the choreography, deepening our connection to the movement and working together to shape a complete section of a piece by the end of the week.

The Drop-In Experience: Spontaneous drop-in dancers are warmly welcome to share the space. You will experience the technical class and immerse yourself in a beautiful, self-contained choreographic phrase for that day.

Come with an open mind and a passion to move. Bring your technical foundation, and let’s find the artistry within it. (Pointe shoes are welcome for those who wish to dance en pointe, but are by no means compulsory).

Teacher Biography

Marcelo Ferreira Ballet Dancer & Guest Instructor

Originally from Brazil, Marcelo Ferreira is a professional ballet dancer currently performing with the Leipzig Ballet (Oper Leipzig). Classically trained but deeply passionate about the evolution of dance, Marcelo’s career has allowed him to master both the rigorous demands of traditional classical ballet and the fluid, expressive demands of modern and neoclassical masterpieces.

As a teacher, Marcelo brings the energy and artistic insight of a working company dancer into the studio. His classes focus not only on technical precision, strength, and placement, but on helping dancers find their unique artistic voice, musicality, and emotional depth through movement. He is thrilled to share his love for the neoclassical repertoire with the community at Tanz Zentrale.
